NEWS AND UPDATES

This page will allow visitors to our site to see what produce is currently in season and what to expect while shopping in our store.

April 22, 2025: We are almost ready to get started for the season and have set our opening date for April 30th! We are looking forward to seeing all of our loyal customers, as well as all of the new patrons that may come to check out our store. Thank you in advance for your business, see you soon!

January 12, 2025: We would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and thank you for your support during the holiday season. We were able to sell out of trees and wreaths earlier than usual--a great way to cap off the 2024 business year. We hope everyone has a safe and happy winter and look forward to reopening in the spring!

November 13, 2024: We would like to thank our customers for supporting us during the 2024 produce season and would love to see you back during our Christmas tree season! We will be reopening on Friday, November 29th to sell Christmas trees, homemade wreaths, evergreen garland and swag, poinsettias, Calder's eggnog, Amish made jams and salsas and more! Our hours change to 10am to 8pm during this season and we will be there until the trees have sold out (usually around the 20th of December). We provide high quality trees all grown in Michigan and offer full-service sales for your convenience. Please refer to our CHRISTMAS page on the website for more details. Happy Thanksgiving and we hope to see you at least one more time before we close our doors for the 2024 season!

September 09, 2024: The fall season is here and we are starting to sell all of the produce and decor that come with it. Hardy Mums, ornamental gourds, straw, apples, heirloom and pie pumpkins and fall vegetables are now in stock! We have several varieties of apples available including Honeycrisp, Cortland, Fuji and Gala, with more coming soon. There is still plenty of Michigan grown produce in stock along with fall favorites including Concord grapes, winter squash, fresh apple cider, parsnips, rutabaga, turnips, hot peppers, heirloom cherry tomatoes and Bartlett pears. Unfortunately, the sweet corn is only days away from the end of its season so try not to miss out on your last chance to enjoy that little taste of Michigan summer before it's gone! The local tomatoes are still coming in strong, and we hope to have them for several more weeks. We should be rounding out our selection of fall items over the next two weeks with cornstalks, mini straw bales and carving pumpkins to help you get ready for the Halloween season. Thank you for your interest in our store!

August 11, 2024: We've passed the half-way point in our season and would like to give you a few details about what is going on at the store. It's been a tough year for many Michigan farmers as the mild winter and early heat have disrupted the usual flow of seasonal produce. We've had most everything that we usually have but many of the perennial crops have come early and gone out of season early. Prices have remained high for Michigan produce throughout the summer due to lack of supply and wet weather. Right now, the peaches are still coming in, tomatoes are looking great (canning tomatoes are just starting), sweet corn is reaching its peak, and many Michigan vegetables are still available so try not to miss out on the seasonal produce that we have to offer! It's nearing the beginning of Michigan apple season and though they may be a bit scarce this year, we will do our best to get whatever we can. Thank you for checking out our website and hopefully we will see you in the store before the summer turns to fall and we close our doors for another season (our last day is October 31st each year).

May 12, 2024: Just want to thank everyone who came out to support us during our first two weekends this season. We count on all of you to keep our business thriving. The weather has been better than usual for early May and we hope that all of your gardens and planters are thriving as well! Mother's Day is past us now, but the planting season is just getting started so if you haven't been in yet, come by and check out the huge selection of herb and vegetable plants, hanging baskets and planters, annuals and perennials we have to offer before they are gone! We appreciate your business and hope you continue to support us after the spring season when all of the local produce starts coming in. Right now, we already have locally grown asparagus and rhubarb to offer and it's only a matter of weeks before more Michigan produce becomes available. Again, a huge thanks to all of you who helped us get off to a great start this season!

April 20, 2024: Opening day is set for Wednesday, May 1st this year. We have already begun stocking the store with our usual grocery and garden items and look to have plenty of plants and produce available for opening day. Please keep in mind that we receive our first produce order sometime during the morning on May 1st and it will take us a good portion of the day to get the items priced and displayed so produce will not be available at 9am when we open, but we do the best we can to get set up as fast as possible. Thanks for checking in and it looks like the weather is going to be great for our first week this year!

February 5th, 2024: As of today our website has been updated to a more streamlined version of the old, burdensome site. We've removed much of the unnecessary, outdated information and broken links and focused on allowing a visitor to quickly find out more about our store without coming in. Hopefully we will be able to add some pictures and other useful things to the site as time goes on, but for now this is it. Thank you for your interest in our store and as usual we look forward to opening in the spring!

January 1st, 2024: Thank you to everyone who came out to support us during the 2023 Christmas tree season. We were able to sell nearly all of our stock and a record number of our homemade wreaths and swags! We would also like to thank all of our faithful regular customers who shopped with us throughout the planting, produce and fall seasons. We look forward to serving you in the year to come and plan to continue providing the best produce and customer service in town. Happy New Year!
