VENDOR AND PRODUCT LIST

This listing will give you a general idea of our sources and companies we do business with in order to keep our store stocked with quality products.

FRESH PRODUCE: Our main produce supplier, a small, family-owned wholesaler, delivers goods two or three times a week fresh from Detroit's Eastern Market for local produce and shipped in products from the Detroit Produce Terminal. We also sell some produce in season from a few small farmers in our immediate area. See our Michigan Produce page for information on when most local produce is available.

PLANTS PLANTS PLANTS: Our store offers one of the best varieties of plants in the area. We sell perennials in both starter and gallon sizes--over 300 varieties in all. Our hanging baskets are always well grown and we sell them for very comparable prices. Come see us at Mother's Day for the best selection. We also carry annual flowers in 36 and 48 count flats and 4in. specialty sizes. It's always easier to get the vegetable garden done if you can get all the plants in one place, and here, you can easily do that--we sell most any vegetable plant you can think of including over 40 types of tomato plants and just as many peppers.

Here is a list of some of our plant suppliers:

  • Anne Ostrowski Greenhouse--a small local wholesaler of vegetable plants including tomatoes, peppers, cole-crop vegetables, melons, cucumbers and more.
  • Banotai Greenhouse--a local leader in quality plants since the 1960's, we get many hanging baskets, planters and specialty annuals from this source.
  • Dusseau Farm and Greenhouse--a local wholesaler of top-quality hanging baskets and planters.
  • Kaltz and Sons Greenhouse and Farm--perennials in gallon pots, berries and grapes and a huge selection of well grown herb starts come from this family owned and operated business.
  • Parran's Greenhouse--the biggest selection of seed perennials in the area comes from this source, and we are thankful to be able to do business with them.
  • Vandenberg Horticulture--roses from Lincoln Nursery, clematis vines, onion and potato sets, asparagus roots, spring and fall bulbs and Venus flytraps come from this time-tested distributor out of Howell, Michigan.

AMISH MADE JAMS AND SALSAS: Just like homemade, these products use real sugar and fresh ingredients. They are made in small batches and are exceptionally good. They include many types of jams like strawberry, blackberry, cherry, blueberry, raspberry, elderberry and grape, a line of fruit salsa including cherry, peach, and pineapple, garden, black bean and corn salsa and one of the most desired products: sweet baby beets. They offer fresh milk in glass bottles including natural, whole, reduced fat or skim and chocolate. DEXTER MILL WILD BIRD FEED: We source our seed from this local retailer and wholesaler of animal feed and grains. They process and pack most of the products on site and provide high quality fresh bird feed. We sell three grades of standard mixes including their wild bird blend, deluxe blend and cardinal mix as well as striped and oil sunflower seeds, safflower, peanuts, whole and cracked corn, critter mix and nyjer seed. We pack 5 and 10 pound bags of all products so you don't have to buy and store more than you need at one time.

DROLL YANKEE'S BIRD FEEDERS: To compliment our sales of wild bird feed, we offer a selection of feeders from this company. Droll Yankee's feeders are made in the U.S.A. and carry a limited lifetime warranty against squirrel damage. They are constructed with quality steel and UV resistant plastics that prevent yellowing over time. We have nyjer tube feeders and socks, cage suet feeders, mixed and sunflower tube feeders, oriole feeders and more.
